Zion National Park

I recently went on a trip to Zion National Park.  I was only there for a couple days but I hiked Angel's Landing and the Subway.  The first two images are from the Angel's Landing hike.  The rest are from the Subway.

Echo, Utah

Since my wife and daughters were out of town on Father's Day I decided to go do something for me.  It's been a while since I've been on a good drive and just as long since I've done any real personal work.  I drove to Echo, Utah, a small town with an old school/church house, small cemetery, and a couple out-of-business buildings.  Echo was originally built as a stop along the railway.  Today it sits between Coalville and Henefer, Utah, and is home to less than a hundred people.  I enjoyed both the drive and the opportunity to make some photographs.

Jellyfish

I did an assignment for the Daily Universe at the Living Aquarium in Sandy.  I was sent to photograph river otters, but the jellyfish were much more interesting to photograph.  I loved these two images.

For those who care, I had to shoot at an ISO of 6400 with my lens wide open.  I'd love to photograph these again with a some strobes, closed down, with everything sharp.  But for the situation I loved these.

San Francisco

At the beginning of November my wife and I were able to get away for a long weekend.  It had been almost 15 years since I last visited San Francisco, and Chelsa had never been.  So when the opportunity came we went.  I didn't get my camera out too much, but I did get some photographs.

Kylie

So a couple months ago I posted a photo of my youngest daughter Ellie.  Well, I felt like I needed to add one of my first born.  She loves to dress up.  We call this one her 80's style.

Guys Trip -- Island Park and Yellowstone

I spent last week with my dad and brother up in Island Park, Idaho.  Last summer we built a deck on my grandma's cabin and we needed to finish a couple things on it.  I didn't shoot very often (though I wanted to), but I did get a couple shots in before I left.  The first photograph is of Henry's Fork of the Snake River coming from Big Springs.  The last are from our drive through Yellowstone.  This is beautiful country.  And this year it was even better.

Benson

This past spring my brother Benson underwent more treatments and operations with regards to his cancer.  I have wanted to document his experience in the past but never made the time to do so, I am glad I did.  It was an enriching experience for me.  I wrote a medical sketch detailing his eight year fight with a spinal cord tumor and photographed his most recent operations and recovery.  I have posted the photographs...

Daytona Beach

These photographs are from a vacation I had with my wife's family at Daytona Beach, Florida.  It was a wonderful, warm break from the cool spring we've been having in Utah.  I guess that's why they call it spring break.
